This treasure text of Nuden Dorje renders a very clear and authentic account of the view and essential meditation of dzogchen, the practice of nondual experience. The presentation is in the Men ngag style, a personal instruction distilling the author's own realization in a manner both beautiful and deeply meaningful. Short verses show, with pithy clarity, how the various aspects of dzogchen fit together. The text provides both an authentic portrayal of the practice and a clear instruction in how to apply it.
Dzogchen, often considered the highest practice of Tibetan Buddhism, is an ancient system of realizing one's own authentic nature. Carrying on an unbroken line of transmission, this text presents a traditional consideration of the system's key points. It speaks to the heart of the human condition, highlighting the need to integrate all the aspects of one's being. In the process, the practitioner learns to overcome fear, anxiety and denial.
The commentary explains pivotal practices and addresses difficulties that arise in meditation. Given during a retreat to lineage students in the presence of the lineage holder, it provides both an expansion of the traditional concepts embodied in the text and an examination of how they can function in contemporary life.
James Low, who gave the commentary, has been a student of the fourth incarnation of Nuden Dorje for thirty years. He studied Tibetan Buddhism in India with multiple masters and has translated numerous texts with Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche. He is one of the few non-Tibetans authorized to teach dzogchen. Mr. Low works as a consulting psychotherapist in a London public hospital, and teaches dzogchen meditation in his direct and humorous style around the world. More informations about him you will find here.

"James Low has made an invaluable contribution to Dzogchen studies with his excellent translation and commentary on this precious Tibetan text. Anyone interested in the view and meditation practices of Dzogchen, the Natural Great Perfection teachings, would benefit from keeping this handbook close to their hearts and minds, as I myself do."

The Khordong Association in Germany was founded through the inspiration of H.H. Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche and has existed as a society since 1993. In 1996 the society was registered and in February 1999 recognized as a charitable society.
The support and the practice of Tibetan-buddhist meditation, especially the tradition of H.H. Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche is the central aim of the society. Although the society is, with about 45 members, quite small, it represents a circle of interests, which extend beyond our country.
In August 2001 we decided to create within our association a publishing house, to publish especially texts of this tradition and to provide a facility for making this texts available in an appropriate form. It is also planned to publish teachings and translations of the main disciples of Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche.
With this publication, again in English language, for the first time we worked together with a well known publisher of Buddhist texts in the USA, through which this treasury text becomes widely available, beyond the limitation of our small associations possibilities.
